Our Mission
Stories That
Must Be Heard
Together, we can amplify the voices of those on the frontlines of climate change in Africa.
Why StoryCast
The Power of Storytelling
This is a web platform that displays powerful stories from numerous organizations covering climate change in Africa.
All videos are embedded directly from YouTube and remain the property of their original creators: NBC News, ABC News, Channels Television, and Switch TV.
The design emphasizes accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA compliance), responsive layouts, container queries, and semantic markup. No content is hosted on this platform - all media is streamed from YouTube.
Access
Designed for Everyone
Accessibility is not a feature layer. It is a design constraint applied from the first line of markup.
Videos
All videos are embedded directly from YouTube. No content is downloaded or hosted on this platform.
Keyboard Navigation
The entire site is navigable by keyboard. Audio players respond to arrow keys for scrubbing, space to play and pause.
Transcripts
Stories are published with full transcripts including timestamps for accessibility.
Inclusive Design
Interactive elements with semantic structure, designed to meet WCAG AA contrast throughout.
Screen Readers
ARIA landmarks, live regions, and descriptive labels are applied throughout.
